SPNHC - NSCA Joint Meeting
23-27 May 2006
Albuquerque, New Mexico

***

Thank you all for coming! - The Local Committee

***

Co-hosted by the University of New Mexico Museum of Southwestern Biology and the U.S. Geological Survey Arid Lands Field Station.

Theme: "The Road to Productive Partnerships"

Venue: The meeting will be held at the Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town.

Contacts: Cindy Ramotnik (SPNHC host) and Cheryl Parmenter (NSCA host).

Join us in the Land of Enchantment, May 23 - 27, 2006, for the joint meeting of the Society for Preservation of Natural History Collections and the Natural Science Collections Alliance. The meeting will highlight collaborative efforts of scientific collections with other museums, state and government organizations, private entities, and international groups.

Our theme this year is “The Road to Productive Partnerships” and we will offer several ‘special sessions’ designed to spotlight a selection of subjects that are topical and relevant to natural history collections and their various partners. The meeting will also feature plenary speakers, invited and submitted talks, a poster session, trade show, and half day workshops on data sharing, informatics and specimen imaging.

A selection of half-day and all-day Pre-conference field trips to some of the most unique areas in New Mexico will be available. These include Petroglyph National Monument, Valles Caldera National Preserve, the Sandia Mountains, and the “City Different”, Santa Fe. We’ll also be offering tours of some of the many fine museums on the University of New Mexico campus, including the Museum of Southwestern Biology, the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology, and the Geology Museum’s Meteorite Collection.
Please join us in Albuquerque next May. You won't want to miss this meeting that combines the best of both organizations’ meeting styles!

This website will be updated regularly as more information becomes available, so check back frequently.
